MORE ACADEMIC SUPPORT
An Individualized Approach to Learning
At St. Thomas More, we believe that every student’s individual strengths and weaknesses should be considered and addressed throughout their academic journey. To ensure each student receives the support they need to achieve more, we offer unparalleled academic support and assistance.

Advisor Program
Each student is assigned to a faculty advisor who is available any time for support and guidance. Advisors meet with students each week to discuss progress and communicate with parents frequently with updates.
Study Hall
Our required study hall sessions give students a quiet space to complete assignments and prepare for exams. These sessions are closely monitored by faculty so that they can offer extra assistance to students in need.

Extra Help
Teachers are available every day after school to provide extra help with their classes. This dedicated time does not interfere with other activities and is a great time for students to ask questions and receive personalized support.
Student Assistance Program (SAP)
For formal, regularly scheduled assistance, students can enroll in the SAP, a curriculum-based program that offers individual lesson plans, up to five tutoring sessions per week, and a maximum one-to-three tutor-to-student ratio. The program focuses on homework, study skills, time management, and learning strategies.

Transitional Seminar
This supplemental support service aims to prepare students in eighth grade for the transition into the high school curriculum. Areas of focus include time management, organization skills, reading comprehension, test taking strategies, and reinforcement of core curriculum subjects.
