EXERCISE SCIENCE & PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Speed and Agility
Speed and Agility is a subcategory of the Exercise Science/Physical Education course that works in
conjunction with three other fitness curricula to develop a balanced workout routine for student-athletes.
The course focuses on overall explosiveness, speed, and athleticism. Students participate in a range of
drills targeting linear and lateral acceleration, isolated movements, force generation and absorption, and
explosive movement into open space. Students work both individually and collaboratively to develop well-
rounded and enhanced athleticism. Students are assessed on punctuality, attitude, effort, and individual
growth.
Health and Fitness
Health & Fitness is an active, practical course designed to help students build lifelong skills for caring for
their bodies, managing stress, making informed health choices, and developing healthy relationships with
movement, food, technology, and themselves. Students will learn through discussion, movement, games,
creative activities, and real-world health education.
Strength and Conditioning
Strength and Conditioning is a subcategory of the Exercise Science/Physical Education course that works
in conjunction with three other fitness curricula to develop a balanced workout routine for student-
athletes. Its primary goal is to improve overall strength through bodyweight exercises, free weights, and
resistance equipment. Students perform sport-specific movements and exercises that build upon previous
lifting foundations while addressing individual goals and performance benchmarks. The curriculum is
adjusted based on preseason objectives and in-season needs. Students are assessed on punctuality,
attitude, effort, and individual growth.
